It has been registered as a new technology in the NETIS (New Technology Information System in public works) database operated by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism.

The TOBISLIDE was developed due to the reality that 63%*1 of the bridges in Japan are old bridges that have been up for 50 years since construction

There are approximately 730,000*2 bridges in Japan, and by 2033, 63% of those will be old bridges that have been up for 50 years since construction, creating an urgent need to address the deterioration of social infrastructure.
In order to realize a sustainable society, it is important to systematically maintain and renew old bridges of 15 m or less in length, which are said to account for more than half of all old bridges.
However, the conventional suspended scaffolding required to accomplish this was large, heavy, and required time and manpower for protection, creating problems for many of the craftspeople who construct this scaffolding.

To address these issues, we developed the “TOBISILIDE” next-generation panel-type system unit suspended scaffolding, which has been specially made for the repair and maintenance of small and medium-sized steel bridges and pedestrian overpasses.
